About the "I Do" film series
Presented by Singapore Cancer Society, and supported by Parkway Cancer Centre, "I Do" is Singapore’s definitive film series on cancer. Featuring real people who have faced up to cancer, interwoven in a love story through a 5-episode film series.
Created and produced by veteran filmmaker Daniel Yun, and directed by Sean Ng, the film series features Michael and Amy who fall in love and prepare to get married; until Michael discovers he has stage 4 cancer. They go on a journey to learn to live and love again, with the support of their loved ones.
The people behind the film series
"I Do" was created and produced by Daniel Yun, a veteran film producer, media practitioner, and marketer. In 1998, he founded MediaCorp Raintree Pictures and was a key driving force behind the push to establish a Singapore movie industry by nurturing Singapore filmmakers and collaborating with accomplished overseas filmmakers. Daniel led MediaCorp Raintree Pictures with over 30 releases, including ‘I Not Stupid’, ’The Eye’, ’The Maid’, ‘881’, ’The Leap Years’, ‘Infernal Affairs 2’, ’Turn Left, Turn Right’ and ‘Painted Skin'. In 2015, he co-produced, co-wrote and co-directed ‘1965’, a movie on the pioneer generation in the months leading up to the independence of Singapore. In 2016, Daniel founded Blue3 Asia.
"I Do" is a film series directed by Sean Ng. Sean started AMOK, a creative film company in 2014. He’s worked on brands such as Louis Vuitton, Coca-Cola, Chevrolet, Audi, Sony, Facebook. In 2015, Sean’s short film, ‘You, Me’ clinched the Best Film award at the inaugural Movie Makers Competition by MM2 Entertainment. Since then, his filmmaking career has progressed to writing and directing ‘Zi Char’, a 90 minute telemovie commissioned by StarHub’s E-City Channel. He is currently developing his feature film, which is slated to release in early 2019.
