Next Gen Rising: Youth Against Cancer
Over the years, the youth have played a significant role in Singapore Cancer Society’s efforts in raising cancer awareness and the preventive measures youths can take to reduce their risk of being diagnosed with the disease. With determination and passion, and in line with SCS’ 60th Anniversary, the Next Gen Rising: Youth Against Cancer has launched to provide youths a platform to be informed, be empowered and be the change in the cancer community.
Be Informed
To generate interest and engage youths in the cancer conversation to inform them about the importance of healthy living.
School Outreach
Invite SCS to your school to hold talks or information sessions to get students (kindergarten, primary, secondary) informed about cancer and what they can do to minimise the risks of being diagnosed with cancer.
Youth Conversations
SCS Youth Conversations seeks to further provide youth (aged 13 - 35) from diverse backgrounds with an opportunity to make meaningful connections and technical conversations with youth and subject matter experts.
Be Empowered
To provide youths with the platform and involve them in making a change to the cancer community by volunteering or planning campaigns/initiatives to advocate cancer awareness and/or fundraise for SCS.
SCS Interschool Competition
The SCS Interschool Competition is an annual programme that seeks to provide a premise for full-time tertiary students (aged 17 – 25) from any ITE, Polytechnic, Junior College, and University to conceptualise and execute creative ideas that will drive SCS’ mission to Minimise Cancer and Maximise Lives.
Smoke-Free Ambassadors Programme
Drives awareness on the harmful effects of smoking and its connection with lung cancer through SCS cancer workshops and student projects and, nurtures youths to become ambassadors for a smoke-free society.
*This programme is designed for Uniformed Groups.
Volunteer with SCS
Embark on a fulfilling journey as an SCS volunteer, fundraiser, or talent. Gain the opportunity to develop a variety of skills, bond with members of the community and make a lasting impact with us.
Be The Change
With support from Singapore Cancer Society, collaborate with fellow youths to execute advocacy efforts. Youths can either adapt from current programmes or events SCS has or create your own initiatives and rally your peers to participate in your activities.
Mini Relay For Life
Students can join the global movement and lead the fight against cancer by planning a relay. The relay will foster a spirit of awareness, empathy, and allow students to develop fundraising skills.
Schools may consider integrating it into school programmes such as Sports Carnival or PE sessions.
YMCA-Youth For Causes
Be a change-maker by addressing and championing societal issues close to your hearts. Youths will execute their own projects to drive awareness on cancer, fundraise and organise meaningful activities for SCS beneficiaries.
