I was able to manage my finances and reduced the burden of treatment cost.

The SCS Hospice Care Services team regularly contacted and visited my mother. They provided sufficient information and contact details for me.

I feel that spending time with peers during such activities engages and motivates each other.

By sharing my story, I want to give other ostomates the hope and confidence to live life to the fullest and not to consider themselves handicapped.

When I first joined the support group I was surprised that such a support network even existed.

These exercise helped to improve my mobility at the workplace.

I had a sense of fulfilment in supporting and helping other women who are going through the cancer journey.

After running for the past 40 years, I was getting bored. I needed to find motivation. So why not run and raise funds for the SCS at the same time?

I am currently in remission and my husband is still undergoing cancer treatments with the aid of SCS Financial Assistance Schemes.

My greatest wish at this stage is to be at home, and they made it possible.

After nearly 25 years at my previous job I decided to do something to give back to the cancer society.

This has helped me cope with minor issues that may have previously led to unnecessary clinic or emergency department visits.

Awareness is important for cancer screening and prevention. Especially for cancers that can be prevented like women's gynaecological cancer.

Even though I am young, I can use my love for music to help support SCS in my own small way.

Majority of the studies are from medical aspect. Not much studies were done on physiological and social wellbeing of the patients and caregivers

Before I was enrolled in the tuition programme, I failed my Math, Science, and English. But now, I passed them all.

Knowledge is power. Even if you are not impacted by cancer in any way, use this knowledge to help others impacted by cancer.

I would like to thank Singapore Cancer Society for going through the tough times with me, especially when I was feeling hopeless and helpless.

I’ll always advise people around me to adopt a healthy lifestyle, exercise regularly, eat healthily, and most importantly to have a positive mindset.

After the competition, I realised that I can do my part to help change the smoking culture in Singapore.

I am a strong believer in breaking the stigma of cancer. I want to show people that life goes on after cancer.

I will not leave this life without pursuing photography.

I am happy to be able to contribute and help someone with a financial need and lighten his burden so that he can focus on recovery.

For me it was important to create greater awareness on cancer and joining Singapore Cancer Society as a Council Member was a worthwhile cause.

What I go through to train for the race is nothing compared to what cancer patients go through in their lives

I can do my part to minimise cancer and maximise lives.
