SCS provides a whole-person approach to cancer care that addresses a range of needs to improve the quality of life of those affected by cancer.

Our social workers and counsellors are specially trained to help you and your caregivers cope with your fears and strong emotions that may result from your cancer diagnosis or treatment. They are also ready to help you, your caregivers, and your family members access relevant information, financial resources, and support groups along your cancer journey.

Psychosocial Support

Our social workers and counsellors are ready to assist with:

  • Individual and family counselling to cope with illness, loss, and bereavement
  • Resources to address practical or financial concerns
  • Facilitated discussions on decision-making with regards to treatment, care plans, and survivorship goals after treatment
  • Facilitated discussions between caregivers, family members and healthcare providers
